About Ellen
Ellen Svensson is a doctoral student in practical philosophy at Stockholm University and a member of the research school Norms and Normativity (NoNo). Her dissertation project, “In AI We Trust? An Ethical Inquiry into AI Paternalism in Public Healthcare,” began in 2024 and asks how the growing role of AI in medical decision-making bears on the bioethical norms of beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, and justice. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Umeå University, where she wrote on gene editing, the Covid-19 pandemic, and AI and autonomy.
